I though i'd test the new pet controls while getting my ranger to elona. Foolishly i forgot to grab hench beforehand......seems my phoenix and i didn't miss them.

There is nothing surprising here. I used to solo a (small I confess) part of the deep with my pet before the pet controls, and the quests in KC and LA ain't really hard... You cound have done it with a marksmanship or WS build as well. Actually I'm pretty sure even a stupid build like Conjure Phantasm ranger could do it

Don't say such things! Phantasm Rangers should never be encouraged outside of Pre-Searing

But yeah its really not hard, speically now we have pet controls.

Well, been trying this in onther area's and noticed monks and other casters dont flee from pets like they do warriors and dervishes.

Beastmasters do rule, but the same area could admittedly be done by a ranger with Apply Poison and a running skill (I figure that's a better example than Conjure Phant).

^ Yeah that's exactly what I did with my ranger when NF came out in LA (I think they lowered the level of the foes there since, didn't they?). I had Poison Arrow actually but... erm. Hence my conj phant example - I'm sure it would work
